Behind-the-Scenes Access
Take an exclusive tour with a Lowry curator through the captivating Alison Goldfrapp: Performer as Curator exhibition. Or gain fresh perspectives on the evolving impact of conflict on civilians, from the First World War to now, in a special session led by Graham Boxer, director of Imperial War Museum North.
Dance and Artistic Innovation
Step inside the Lowry’s Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) to witness a rare open rehearsal featuring students training alongside dancers from the renowned Phoenix Dance Theatre. In the Open Centre, local artist Nicola Ellis will showcase her mesmerizing piece Osseous, accompanied by a personal talk about her creative process and vision.
Digital and Performance Art
Experience the cutting edge of digital art with performances by John O’Shea and Ellie Harrison, alongside seven leading digital artists. Their project, The Other Forecast, reimagines the familiar weather forecast through the lens of social, political, and environmental interconnectedness, offering unique worldviews on today’s global challenges.
The Other Forecast films will premiere on Saturday, 26 October at 4pm in the Digital Performance Lab at the University of Salford, followed by daily broadcasts on the MediaCityUK Big Screen at 1:30pm and 5:30pm during the week of 4–10 November.
