Sport in the First World WarA talk about sport during the First World War both on the Western Front and at home
14 December 2014
Sunday 14 December, 2 - 3pm
On Christmas Day 1914 many British and German soldiers ceased fire and famously met in no man?s land to play football and exchange gifts.
100 years on from the Christmas Truce football matches, join us at IWM North for a talk by Professor Emeritus Tony Mason, who examines sport during the First World War both on the Western Front and at home.
Professor Mason, of De Montfort University?s International Centre for Sports History and Culture, has written extensively on the history of football and sport and the military.
Free to attend, but booking is required via quaytickets.com
