Artist talk with Nicola Ellis - 12 noon
The Open Centre, Broadway, Salford
Browse and buy beautiful products created by local artists, makers and designers. Whilst at the Open Centre, see Osseous (2013) by Nicola Ellis, the first in a series of sculpture commissions by Quays Culture for this beautiful space.
Nicola is interested in the synchronisation of the natural with the unnatural. Drawing and printing generate ideas for play, which explore aspects of the materials used. Sculptural objects are then produced which combine these material experiences with processes that play with levels of physical control. The artist asks how far she can test the limits of the materials she uses.
THIS IS A DROP-IN EVENT AS PART OF THE QUAYS OPEN DAY - NO BOOKING REQUIRED.
