Meet at: The Tour Point in the Main Exhibition
Join a 20 minute walk and talk around the Main Exhibition Space to explore the Christmas Truce that took place on the Western Front in 1914 and fascinating stories of soldiers serving away from home during the festive period. See artefacts on display from the First World War such as a Princess Mary Gift Tin, Postcards sent from Francis Bushell back to his family in Lancashire and a Christmas Pudding tin lid made into a souvenir by a prisoner of war at Ruhleben camp.
The IWM North Shop will be stocking a range of Christmas gifts. The theme is Christmas 1913, the last Christmas of Edwardian opulence before wartime austerity. The range features Edwardian inspired goods such as beautiful Christmas decorations, toys and confectionary.
