Hear first-hand accounts of evacuated children who were separated from their parents for the first time, and the stories of ordinary people who stayed in the cities leaving them under the constant threat of bombs.
The tour on Saturday 9 January marks 75 years since the maiden flight of the Avro Lancaster at Ringway Airport, Manchester. This special edition tour includes the story of Susan Jones, one of many factory workers from the region, who were vital in the production of over half of the 7,000 Lancaster bombers made in the Second World War.
