We are part of the mix of arts and cultural events across the Quays, running a programme in the outdoor spaces and across venues. Our programme will include events such as two free annual festivals, artists commissions & residencies, talks & discussion forums, co-commissioning new art works and pop-up events over the year.
We are supported by the Quays Partnership to develop the waterfront as the place to be for the next generation, creating new and forward thinking art works and events on the Quays to inspire everyone, and establishing the place as a home for artists and creatives to make and show high quality work. The Quays Partnership backing means that we can help artists and communities to access some of the best resources and facilities to bring to life the natural, physical and digital environment of The Quays.
Quays Culture lead on the development of the Quays, Greater Manchester's Waterfront, as a cultural destination. Our vision is to make The Quays the place to be for the next generation and a magnet for artists and creative innovators and public audiences. We are inspired by The Quays as a dynamic place where the public, culture, media, business and the aquatic interact on a local and global platform.
We are contributing to developing the Quays an exciting and dynamic cultural destination, a place to see, create and interact with art of the future and connect to the world, a place of energy, and the place to be for public and professionals as audiences, participants, creators and artists.
What this will look like - Quays Culture will run arts and cultural events across the Quays in the outdoor spaces and across venues. This will include events such as free annual festivals, artists commissions, residencies, talks & debate forums, co-commissioning new art works and pop-up events over the year. Everyone is invited to come to the Quays and join in with both small-scale and mass-participation events and activities from the intimate to the monumental.

See highlights of the previous event for a taste of what to expect. http://quaysculture.com/past-projects/2016-projects/broken-motionhouse/

The event will run daily from 7 - 16 December 2018 and once again will be free to attend. Follow us on our website and social media channels for the latest news on what to expect.
Our partners at the Quays:
Quays Culture is supported by the Quays consortia (QVDG) which includes organisations such as the BBC, MediaCityUK, Salford University, the Lowry, Imperial War Museum North, Salford City Council, Manchester United and Trafford Borough Council. It is the resources of the QVDG and the surrounding creative industries that will enable and inspire us to collaborate and create a new entrepreneurial model for cultural production, innovation and the growth of audiences and community. We welcome conversations to explore new ideas and help people to engage creatively and experimentally with The Quays waterfront as a dynamic canvas for art, a dreaming sphere for ideas and creative lab for artistic research and cultural production.Weaving the local into the global and the global out of the local, the Quays Culture programme seeks to synthesise people, places and things into a big picture. It asks: how might Globalism and Ecology interact in the future? What is the role of Waterfronts internationally? Can the Quays Waterfront be an ambassador for the emerging vision of the ecological age?
